ABOUT

Aztecs for Animals was founded in the Spring of 2026 through the passion of students who wanted to increase awareness of animal welfare and humane education on the San Diego State campus.

Our goals are constantly evolving, ranging from local community support—such as volunteering and fundraising for shelters—to systemic change through humane education and state policy research.

​

We are open to all students from all majors. Members of Aztecs for Animals can look forward to guest speakers from this industry, such as shelter directors, humane education experts, and other animal welfare professionals. 

We look forward to you joining us in being the voice for the voiceless!
